September 21, 2009, is International Day of Prayer for Peace.
Today and tomorrow churches and many other community groups around the
world will gather to pray about how violence and social justice issues are
affecting their communities. In observance of this Carroll Payne a member
of the Virlina District’s Peace Affairs Committee will share with us today
and then we will have several prayers offered.

“Building Peace in the Body of Christ” will be held
3 PM at Roanoke, Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, 2138 McVitty
Road. Speakers will be J.Michael Varner, Pastor of Topeco CoB and
Timothy P. Harvey, Pastor of Roanoke, Central CoB. Refreshments and
fellowship will follow the service.
Sunday, September 20 Voice of Praise – 6 P.M.
Please mark your calendars for a performance of Voice of Praise. Held
at Bethlehem and our church will provide light refreshments. Check the
bulletin board for a photo of this male ensemble, as well as our county
paper on Friday. Invite your friends and family to a wonderful evening of
